Japanese-based Metaplanet has seen its Bitcoin holdings attain the 5,000 BTC mark following a recent acquisition. The most recent buy follows a Bitcoin-buying spree that reveals little to no indicators of waning.
Metaplanet Gobbles Up 145 Bitcoin For $13 Million
Metaplanet has clinched the 5,000 Bitcoin milestone after snagging a recent haul of BTC. In accordance with an announcement on X, the Japanese-based firm has scoped an extra 145 Bitcoin for $13.6 million.
Per the announcement, Metaplanet bought every BTC at a mean value of $93,327 per Bitcoin. In the intervening time, Metaplanet’s complete Bitcoin holding sits at a formidable 5,000 BTC, which the corporate says has given it a BTC yield of 121.1% YTD.
“Metaplanet acquired 145 BTC for roughly 1.926 billion yen (roughly 13.28 million yen per BTC), reaching a BTC yield of 121.1% thus far in 2025,” stated Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich.
A fowl’s eye view reveals that Metaplanet has splurged $428 million to rack up 5,000 BTC at a mean value of $85,621 per Bitcoin. The most recent acquisition follows Metaplanet’s purchase of 330 BTC for $28 million to convey its holdings simply shy of the 5,000 BTC mark.
